The 20 Most Popular Cleaning Hashtags on TikTok

Hashtag trends are huge on Cleaning TikTok, with hashtags such as #cleanwithme and #cleaningasmr having hundreds of millions of views. The interesting thing is how polarising some of these trends have been. For example, #productoverload caused controversy in the comment section of many videos because of the health risks of being exposed to a large quantity of chemicals whilst cleaning and because of the wasteful nature of the trend. Watch them for yourself to see where you stand on whether most of these cleaning trends are necessary for a tidy home or a waste of time and money.

Methodology:

To calculate which 20 TikTok cleaning trends are the most popular, we input different cleaning related keywords and hashtags into TikTok to build a list of 50 videos with a high view count and number of likes. We recorded the number of likes gained by each video and ranked them from highest to lowest number of likes.

We also recorded the names of any hashtags used in the caption section of the videos alongside the number of views for each hashtag. We expanded the list by inputting related terms into the search bar and recording any related hashtags that were suggested. We then ranked the hashtags from highest to lowest number of views to reveal the top most popular cleaning trends.
